Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

I love storms. Every year I look forward to Spring just for the fact that storms would be here. I believe in another life that I was a storm chaser…. either that or… no, I’m pretty sure I was a camera-holding-tornado chasing storm chaser.  I think I’m an adrenaline junky. It’s funny because when I was much younger, storms use to scare the living daylights out of me. When we knew a strong storm was headed our way, I would be so scared that I eventually just passed out and would be happy that I missed it. Now, I actually look forward to it.

So what about meteorology do I find fascinating? Everything!! As weather people, you get to not only help warn people of dangerous weather, you get to help plan their lives.. Raining? Take an umbrella. Windy? Carry rocks. Hailing? Wear a helmet and bubble wrap. Thundering and Lightning? Grab the camera and turn on the news. Okay, perhaps it’s not that easy, but it should be. If I had the patience and wouldn’t get nauseous in front of people, I’d certainly do it. What’s fantastic is that you guys who report weather seem so calm on the outside when reporting storms- even if it’s a bad one. Although, I’m pretty sure that on the inside your guts are saying something else. So I have to ask, is this calmness something you were taught or something that just comes with experience? I have a ton of more questions… but this one shall suffice for now. If I need more answers to questions, Google to the rescue.

By the way, when the weather decides to take another turn from what they had planned, don’t get mad. Remember, Mother Nature is constantly PMSing and loves changing her mind (what female doesn’t???). All I ask it to bring me one good storm that makes me rethink my sanity- just avoid the tornadoes, I hate those! So meteorologists, you rock!!!
